Pat Jennings Classic Golf Tournament
As part of our programme of sponsorship for good causes FSI sent a team of golf fanatics to Ireland to take part in the Pat Jennings Classic Golf Tournament organised by the charity Co-operation Ireland. Co-operation Ireland focus their efforts on bringing children together from both sides of the sectarian divide in order to break down the barriers and promote understanding and friendship from an early age. FSI fully endorse the beliefs and goals of Co-operation Ireland and were more than happy to assist. Our team consisted of Jim Mitchell our MD, and Geoff Hindle and Malcolm Holt of Cabotaviation our legal advisors. We were also very lucky to have as the fourth member of our team “Sammy Nelson” Cup and League double winner with Arsenal Football Club, fifty-six times capped for Northern Ireland at soccer and a strong supporter of this excellent cause. Sammy was able to provide us with some good golf, endless stories and a wealth of local know-how. The major competition was played at the Royal County Down Golf Club, a magnificent but tough golf course, and the weather was superb. Although we did not win any of the major prizes we had a truly wonderful time and met many people from all sides who are genuinely committed to this worthy cause. Well done Co-operation Ireland.
